How do I login to Blackboard for the first time?

Please go to http://elearning.ipm.edu.mo/ and click on the Log In button.
Make sure you type the full address of the elearning system.

On the login page, use your NetID as the user name and your NetPassword (the same password you use for the email account).
After log in, you will see the My Blackboard page with your CE 6 courses.  Click on a course name link to enter a course.

When I log in, I get a message regarding a Java applet, asking to run or to trust it.
What should I do?

You should accept to run or trust this applet. Some features in Blackboard will need the applet to work properly.

I forgot my password. What should I do?
As both user name and password are the same you use for email, please contact CSC to reset your password. You may call the helpdesk at ext. 152 or drop by the helpdesk counter at Room 201.

Why some tools /features in CE6 do not work?
Some features in CE6 require the use of pop-up windows. Please check if the settings in your browser are blocking pop-ups. If yes, you will need to disable that function when using Blackboard CE6 or include the CE6 address in your "safe" list".
You may also check if your browser is correctly configured. Please click the "Check Browser" button in the login page.

  How do I self-register in a course?
In the Blackboard login page, select "Course List" and click in your School name. Locate the course and click in the green arrow next to the course name. Then, click on the self-registration icon located in the course row, under the "Actions" column. Enter your user name and password and click "Register".

Blackboard does not work properly in my home computer. Why?

It could be a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) issue.

Try running the browser tune-up first. Please refer to
http://www2.blackboard.com/tuneup/ for instructions.

You might also try clearing the Java and Internet Cache.
PC Users:
To clear the Java Cache, go to the Windows Control Panel and select the Java icon. There's an option to clear temporary internet files.

Mac Users:
Navigate to the Java folder from your hard drive: HD > Applications > Utilities > Java.
Open the Java Preferences application.
Click on the General tab.
Click the Delete Files button (under the Temporary Internet Files section).
