HQ Classroom Computing Equipment Failure Contingency Plan
In order to handle computing equipment failure in classrooms, CSC has derived a HQ Classroom Computing Equipment Failure Contingency Plan as detailed below.
  Monday to Friday - Office Hours (9:00 - 20:00)
  1. For problems that must be handled immediately, teacher can report problem to Computer Service Centre’s Helpdesk (hereafter helpdesk) for assistance (room A201, tel.: 85996 152/108/176/526). Helpdesk will go to the classroom immediately to handle the problem.

a. Should the teacher could not contact helpdesk staff (as there are occasions that all helpdesk staff left the office for support tasks), teacher can also contact the laboratory assistant for assistance (room A213, tel.: 85996 147).

  2. For problems that do not need to resolve immediately, teacher can report problem to helpdesk via the web-based Service Request Management System (SRMS) (URL: http://csc.ipm.edu.mo/srms/) for helpdesk to schedule follow up work on the same day.

  Non-Office Hours
  1. For problems that must be handled immediately, teacher can report problem to the laboratory assistant for assistance (A213, tel.: 85996 147). Laboratory assistant will go to the classroom immediately to investigate the problem. Should installation of backup computer unit is required, laboratory assistant will perform the installation work and report the incident to helpdesk for follow up action.
  2. For problems that do not need to resolve immediately, teacher can report problem to helpdesk via the web-based Service Request Management System (SRMS) (URL: http://csc.ipm.edu.mo/srms/) for helpdesk to schedule follow up work on the following day.

Installation of Backup Computer Equipment (1)
  1. Should computer equipment failure is confirmed and before 9:30 p.m., teacher can request helpdesk (office hours) or laboratory assistant (non-office hours) to install backup computer and LCD projector in the classroom (take about 15 minutes). Backup units are being stored at A213 and MPI Complex building 1/F respectively.
  2. Teacher should inform helpdesk or laboratory assistant after class for follow up with the original problem and/or removal of the backup computer equipment. As the laboratory assistant only works until 10:00 p.m., teacher should request security guard to lock the classroom should the class finish after 10:00 p.m.

  Remark:
  1. Should computer equipment failure in classroom is confirmed, teacher may check the web-based Campus Venue Management System (CVMS) for finding alternative classrooms and request the change to
