  Security Email with EsignTrust Digital Certificate
  Email is becoming a more and more popular communication method in office. However, email itself doesn’t provide compliance with laws and regulations because it lacks many security features. In case of conflict, a simple email cannot be presented as a reliable proof and it does not stands up to law. That is the reason for using EsignTrust Digital Certificate. Email communications become safe, reliable and trustable.

The EsignTrust Digital Certificate is issued by a legally accredited Certification Service Provider, through a rigorous authentication process. According to the EDS Law ( Electronic Documents and Signatures Law), an "Electronic Document signed with a Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) is equivalent to a notarized hand-written signature with full evidentiary power in term of legal effectiveness.".
  What are the benefits of using Digital Certificate in Email?

Some of the key advantages of using the DigitalCertificate are:

  • The highest assertion level available for verifying your personal electronic identity;
  • Protection and assurance of extremely sensitive information and high value transactions;
  • Detection of any fraudulent alteration of electronic documents and transactions;
  • The verification of the lawful authenticity and validity of the Digital Certificate;
  • Creation of a non-reputable signature on electronic transactions or documents;

  • State-of-the-art technology used for encryption.
  To implement the use of Digital Certificate in staff's email, we have created another email account for each staff member. This account is simple and easy to remember; we have just added .dc to the existing NetID - ““.

So, if your NetId is “test 123” and your email account is “”, you will have a
DC email account “” for secure email purposes. And you can only sign your email in this new account with EsignTrust digital certificate.

  How to change my password of the Digital Certificate Email account?
  You can just login to your DC account through WebMail ( and then change it by yourself. You may also send us a SRMS request and a CSC staff member will assist you.
  If I forget the password for accessing the eSignTrust digital certificate, what can I do?

The Certificate Holder has to apply to eSignTrust for the Release/Unlocking of the Smart Card and bring the card to the Registration Authority offices for unlocking.
